it's always a little nerve-wracking to show up for a session when a) you don't know the client, b) you've never even met the little one you're photographing, and c) you're completely unfamiliar with the area you're shooting in and you're just praying it's got somewhere decent for photos.
well, i can laugh at that now because all of my concerns ended up being such non-issues at little cole's session last week. within minutes of showing up, i was warmly welcomed by three generations of family on a spectacular piece of photographer's dream property. we started by throwing rocks in the creek -- which in case you didn't know, is one of the most exciting things a two-year-old boy does in life.
another of the highlights of a little guy's day is spotting airplanes high in the sky...
and playing hide-and-seek among the rocks.
little boys will sit still if they need to...
but they'd much rather be doing things like this (check out the progression from "not quite sure" to "bliss").
and these photos? no particular theme...other than the fact that cole is just so darn cute! thank you all for having me over for a wonderful and fun afternoon of play. :-)
