katie and my husband were friends in high school, and i got to know her when josh and i began dating in college. i'm about a decade removed from good old samford university now, but katie and i have recently reconnected through our blogs. she's a precious little thing with a tiny blessing now growing in her belly, and i was THRILLED when she asked about shooting a session while we were both in atlanta over thanksgiving. her one request?? no up-close-and-personal-belly-shots. as she put it, "i'm not really interested in pulling my sweater up in the middle of the park to show everybody my belly." now i love me some good tummy pictures, but even more than that, i love being creative. so i was pumped to find ways to incorporate baby-he-or-she into the photos without going the really traditional route.

this wasn't really a "maternity" session, per se, so i wanted to make sure that we got some photos that focused primarily on katie and mike as well. i love the outcome...

katie, you're simply darling as a little momma, and i can't wait to hear about the arrival of your sweet baby. thank you so much for letting me spend the morning with you guys -- you're a fun family!
