"so you seriously didn't let her win?!?" i joked as i swirled around the pool table with camera in hand.
he replied with a smile, "no way, man. besides, i figured that she'd be so excited about what was coming that she wouldn't even care."
rewind five months to the night that adam asked sybil to be his wife. being in leadership together at baptist campus ministries, they had known each other for years, but on this day, they would begin the plans to join their lives together in marriage forever.
when sybil contacted me about shooting their wedding, we chatted about how adam had asked her to marry him. how he used their usual game of pool at the BCM as a casual cover-up for his coming proposal. how she thought something might be up because he was wearing a button-up shirt that night (not in his normal daily wardrobe). and how she reached into one of the pockets of the pool table after their game to find a ring box inside. so as we prepped for their engagement session, there was no doubt that the pool table had to be a part of the day.
once the game was done, we moved outside to grab a few more shots.
i absolutely can't wait to see sybil dressed in her wedding gown as she prepares to marry adam in a few months. this girl is beautiful! but more importantly, she's absolutely in love. i adore the way she looks at adam...
probably my favorite part of the day came just before we left to move to our second location. sybil had written me a few weeks ago about the night they first started dating. here's a little of what she had to say...
"the night that adam officially asked me to be his girlfriend, it was POURING down rain. he walked me to my car, which was right outside the BCM. we had an umbrella so we were dry for a few minutes, but then we started talking more and after nearly an hour of standing in the rain, my pants were soaked. but the rain was no match for my smile as I left and returned to my apartment."
ok, so sybil brought along an umbrella so we could recreate a little of that sweet night, and no joke people, it started raining just as we opened the umbrella up for the first shot. i ran under a tree, they strolled along under the umbrella, and the resulting shots make me swoon.
the perfect rain only lasted about five minutes so sybil and adam got changed and we took off to our next location. these guys were so much fun and incredibly easy to work with so we were able to pack a lot of photos into our short time at the gardens.
sybil and adam, it has been a joy to work with you up to this point, and i'm giddy with excitement over your upcoming wedding. thank you so much for letting me be a part!!!!
