a quiet night at the beach. an unexpected discovery of a heart-shaped swirl of candles in the sand. and a beautiful marriage proposal. when mary cate and i met for the first time several months ago, what made her eyes dance the most was sharing about how romantic joshua was and how she couldn't wait to become his wife. those months have passed now and mary cate is no longer chatting with her photographer about her fiance...she's enjoying her honeymoon with her husband.
every detail of mary cate and joshua's wedding was simply gorgeous. my second shooter, anna, and i threw words like exquisite and stunning back and forth to one another all day long.
those words got tossed around a lot when it was time to photograph mary cate and her bridesmaids. this was a particularly special group of girls to mary cate because they've grown up together through the years as sisters and cousins. for me, they were just fantastic!
this one's my personal favorite. it feels like it should be in some sort of jewelry or perfume ad - mary cate looks amazing!
before the ceremony, joshua spent his morning with a wonderful group consisting of his father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friends. and not to be outdone, the men put on a great show as well when it was their turn in front of the camera. my angle:
and anna's:
speaking of anna, i can't thank her enough for everything she does to help not only me, but also the wedding party and family. having her with me for this wedding allowed us to get some sweet shots of mary cate and her dad entering the church for what proved to be a beautiful and intimate marriage ceremony. anna shot from behind while i snuck a few photos from the front.
as the church was clearing, i stole mary cate and joshua away for some portrait shots in the exquisite outdoor lighting. anna took this first photo, and as soon as i saw it i could imagine it with a soft, vintage touch to it. i adore how it turned out.
one of my favorite things about watching mary cate and joshua interact is how easily laughter comes when they're together...
...which is good when you see what happened at their reception. ha!
mary cate and joshua, i'm so thankful that we met and that i was able to take part in your fantastic wedding day. your "war eagle" sendoff was great...
and i hope you're enjoying your first days as husband and wife. congratulations!!
