bethany - maternity

she called in the midst of all the car wreck drama from a few weeks ago.  i grabbed my mountain of paperwork and answered assuming it was another claims agent from one of insurance companies, but i was taken aback to hear a sweet voice on the other line asking about maternity and baby packages.

i replied, "i'm so sorry, bethany.  let me shift gears here for a second."

we talked through what she was looking for as she and her husband, ben, prepare to welcome sara elizabeth into their lives in a few weeks.  she shared a little about her goals, and i talked a bit about my style of photography.  not long after that, we knew we'd be a great match so we scheduled a time to shoot our first session.  as we were talking about possible locations, she mentioned that her husband's family lives on a beautiful expanse of land not far outside of town.  when she started throwing around words like hayfield and old wooden fence, i was hooked.

bethany and ben were a dream to work with.  they were funny, relaxed, and they brought so many fantastic ideas to the table.  and it helps that i think they're pretty smitten with one another.  ;-)

and the hayfield?  umm, yes please.  i'll take one of those.  (the chairs belonged to ben's grandparents -- love it!)

while it's true that sara elizabeth will be their first daughter, she might have to take her place as their second child.  at least that's how their adorable dog, hogan, will probably see it.

he did his best to make sure that he wasn't the only one left out of the family photographs!!

the more we shot, the more i kept telling bethany how gorgeous she is.  she laughed and completely blew me off, but i think we can all agree on who really won the argument...

bethany and ben, thank you so much for allowing me to walk through this next year with you.  i can't wait to meet little sara elizabeth and to add her to your family photos.  see you again soon!
