vintage. romantic. fun.
these were the words that kept coming up as lacey and i were going through the process of stylizing our session. we decided on a location, we figured out the props and clothing, and we formulated our perfect plan. all that was left was to shoot...
photographing this session for lacey and drew was particularly special to me because i had the honor of shooting their wedding one year ago this coming weekend. and as it is with many of my clients, through the process of planning, shooting, editing, designing, and every other aspect of a beautiful wedding, we became friends. lacey now owns her own business in which she's photographer/invitation designer/prop master extraordinaire. it's been a joy to watch her come into her own and to be successful doing what she loves and is gifted at.
when we started talking a "vintagy" look for their session, i knew i wanted to go all out with the look. lacey gave me complete creative control over the final product, and with gorgeousness like this, how could i possibly go wrong?
after a quick wardrobe change (so sorry for the open doors, lacey!) we moved to a different spot and shot what are some of my favorite photos from the whole day.
i gave 45 seconds worth of directions and this is what i got. man, they're incredible!
lacey and drew, i'm so thankful to have been a part of celebrating not only your marriage but also your first anniversary. i love you dearly, and i'm honored to count you as friends. much, much love and congrats to you on a fantastic year!!
