erica and jason - married!

when we met to begin talking through their wedding day plans she said, it's going to be simple.  we're not really fancy, so we want to keep it simple.  when i drove up to the venue on the morning of the wedding, i fell in love.  the sun was shining, the sky was blue, and from the exquisite flowers to the twine-encased bouquets, the details were fantastic.  erica, my dear, you got your wish.  everything about your wedding day was simple.  simply beautiful.

i knew i would love working with erica and jason from our very first meeting many months ago, and that was confirmed when i shot their vintage engagement session in march.  they're lighthearted, fun, and they make my job easy.  we talked a lot leading up to their wedding day, and i'm so happy with the results of the vision we developed for their first day as MR. & MRS.  (many thanks to anna wamsted for assisting me again...and for the killer black and white below.)

one of my very favorite photos from erica and jason's wedding day was of a slightly different nature.  now normally i don't post pictures from the ceremony itself - and certainly not from the processional - but this photo has so much story and emotion wrapped up in it that i just can't resist.  everyone knows that the honor bestowed on a bride's father is that of walking his daughter down the aisle on her wedding day.  but erica's father - the first man who loved her - passed away when she was nine, so erica asked her mom to walk her from the house toward the gorgeous outdoor ceremony site to forever join her life with the man who loves her now.  shooting these photos through tears was no easy feat.

after the ceremony we stole away in a couple of golf carts for some sunset photos before erica and jason welcomed their guests at the reception.  i remember a client writing me once that she loved how i captured the moment just before a kiss.  well not only do i adore that moment...i love the kiss itself as well!

erica and jason, it has been a tremendous pleasure meeting you, working with you, and becoming friends with you.  i love you and pray that you're enjoying the sunset together in this swing for decades to come.
